Fastnet Triathlon
The Annual Fastnet Triathlon takes place in early June. Starting at Schull Sailing Centre, the swimmers will enter the water and swim a 750m triangular course exiting at the slipway. They will then run up to the college playing field, onto their bikes and cycle the 20k route out to Ballyrisode and back, taking in the spectacular scenery as they ride. The run then heads out to the Colla Road and back, a total of 5k, to the finish line at the college.
A field of some 250 athletes will race this challenging course, some novices, some experienced and competitive triathletes from all over Ireland.
Prize-giving will take place in the evening at the Black Sheep, followed by a night of live music and entertainment.
So come out and support some of the best triathletes in Ireland and enjoy the atmosphere of Ireland's fastest growing sport!
