Schull is hosting the International Schools Team Racing Championships this month. For the first time ever the competition will take place with teams from around Ireland, the UK and the USA. The American teams will be staying with local families while the other competitors will be renting houses. Over 100 sailors and their coaches will be in the village during the competition, let’s make sure they all have a splendid time! The racing will take place right in the harbour so take time to come out and watch the action.

An update from the Box Office of the Fastnet Film Festival. The closing date for 2016 submissions has come and gone and we are thrilled with the response, over 240 submissions from 26 countries.  Some visually beautiful, some thought provoking, some funny, some informative but all of them worth watching.  The standard this year is very high, making for some very tough hours of viewing for the judges.  Notifications will be sent out in April to all entrants informing them as to whether or not their film will proceed in the competition. A huge thanks goes out to all the filmmakers who have submitted films this year. Without them there would be no festival. We are humbled but excited by the interest shown in this year’s festival. Drop into the Box Office if you are interested in volunteering! Roll on May!
