Sean O’Connell

Hackett's Bar

Do you know this man?
Sean O’Connell has been in Schull for 13 years and can often be found on either one side or the other of the bar in Hackett’s!

  1. His favourite view is from the top of Sailor’s Hill – Connie Griffin’s lookout – and he wouldn’t have any music, just silence.
  2. He wishes he took up sailing 10 years ago.
  3. He prefers Guinness over Murphy’s and his favourite pizza is Hawaiian with extra chilli.
  4. It is not a surprise to learn that when he was 5 he wanted to be a fighter pilot.

What is it about Schull and the Mizen that attracts people here? Who are the people who populate this quirky little village on the edge of Europe? Why do they come? How do they find us? What do they DO?

Here they tell their stories, responding to the same questions they all have very different answers.
